Thirsty Thursday: When It’s Too Hot to Get Creative

It’s time for happy hour! And today we’re getting cosmic. No, that absolutely does not mean we are drinking Cosmos, it is not 2001. We are however, pretending to look up into the night sky while staring ingot he depths of this star sapphire. If you’re thinking “Holy Balls, that’s huge!” You’d be correct. It’s a casual 88 carats, and its surrounded by approximately 1.25ctw of baguette, marquise, and round brilliant diamonds, all approximately G/H in color and VS in clarity. The whole ring is platinum, as one is wont to want when shopping for a nearly 100 carat sapphire Read More →

Color Study: Cobalt

Cobalt has been popping up just about everywhere lately. Peruse an interior design magazine, and you’ll see that “Greek Blue” and “Mediterranean Blue” are being touted as one of the hottest color trends about to take off. Wander in to your favorite boutique, and you’ll see a sting last stand for summer with blue hued frocks and blouses commanding attention before they make way for Read More →

Of course they do. And of course we will. We know Read More →

Thirsty Thursday: Sapphire Cocktails

This week’s happy hour features sapphire cocktails, neither of which include gin. Rather, we’re referring to the deep, rich blue hue that so many sapphires exhibit, particularly the gorgeous sapphire accents on this amazing diamond and sapphire cocktail ring. An east-west radiant cut diamond weighing a whopping 2.01 carats centers this cocktail ring, with a surround of invisibly set blue sapphires. On the shank, the colors are reversed, featuring sapphires laid into a halo of diamond pave for a geometric (very deco) and opulent cocktail ring. While that’s keeping our finger warm, we’ll need something to keep our hand cool, Read More →

Audemars Piguet on the Runway

Audemars Piguet is becoming a regular in Michael Bastian’s Fashion Week show. 2013 marks the third year of Piguet’s participation. The Fall/Winter 2013 collection was presented at FOCUS: Cafe’ Rouge, where several new items from Audemars Piguet’s collection were on display. Pieces included the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 44mm and the Royal Oak Offshore Diver. While this was the third time Piguet has been included in Bastian’s show, this was the first time either of the watch models on display had been crafted in ceramic.   The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph features a black ceramic case with a sapphire crystal, Read More →
